Welcome to the homepage of the ASHRAE Technical
Research Group 7 - UFAD. This technical resource group is
concerned with reviewing and rewriting the ASHRAE Underfloor Air
Distribution Design Guide to incorporate practical design,
construction, and operational experiences that have become
available since its publication in 2003. The scope of the document
will include guideance on: architectural issues; structural and
seismic issues; interfaces with raised access flooring; plenum
pressurization, air leakage, and moisture issues; fire and smoke
control issues; physical safety and security issues; thermal,
lighting, acoustic, vibration, and indoor air quality control;
room air diffusion; dynamic thermal loads; system capacities and
controllability; testing, adjusting, balancing and commissioning
issues; maintenance and operaional issues; flexibility and change
issues; and energy and economic issues.
